Raymor – Mondor Au-Zn-Ag Deposit
The Raymor-Mondor Au-Zn-Ag Deposit is situated in volcanics, 600 m. east of the eastern edge of the Trecesson Pluton. The deposit was first discovered in 1937 & most of the past work has been performed between 1985 & 1987. Raymor Res. drilled 30 holes (8,339 m.) and most of the drill logs & assay results have not been filed with the government. Since 1987 only geophysical surveying & limited prospecting has been completed on the claims.
The main mineralized zone is called Zone “A” & the Ministre des Resources du Quebec Sigeom data base indicates that Zone A contains 500,000 possible tonnes of 5.5 g/t Au. A property visit by Knick in Sept. 2012 shows that Zone A has previously been stripped over a 50 m. by 330 m. area (1.65 hectares). It appears that very little sampling has been performed on this stripped area, since only 10 cut channel samples were observed. Drill logs filed for assessment indicate that the zone contains Zn values up to 15.8 % Zn over 1.83 m. In 1987 the Northern Miner reported that Raymor Res. indicated Au drill intersected grades of 5.19 – 6.29 g/t over widths up to 1.98 m.
