Spirit Lake Veins (Ruisseau Saint Viateur North Showing)
The two parallel northeast striking, Au bearing, veins lie 150 m. apart in L 60 & 61 - RVIII & L 59 - RVII, Trecesson Twp. Prospecting performed by Knick Exploration in 2011 resulted in $23,750 excess work credits. The veins are in granitic rocks, 2.8 km. north-northeast of North Cossette Vein, following northeast trending sheared, chloritic & carbonate rich mafic dykes-sills, similar to the South Cossette Vein.
On surface the veins are exposed in old trenches & pits, dating back to pre 1936, at widths of up to 1.8 m. These old surface workings show that the West Vein has a strike length of at least 400 m. & 4 grab samples collected while prospecting in 2011 assayed 3.1, 5.7, 9.5 & 18.21 g/t Au. The results of a 8 hole drill program in 1985 indicate the East Vein is at least 500 m. long and may be comprised of more than 1 parallel vein. 15 drill intersected assay results of over 1 g/t Au, were reported, with a best Au result of 3.01 g/t Au across 4.1m.
