MALARTIC WEST GOLD PROJECT
Cadillac and Malartic Mining Camps, Quebec
Historical Gold Production: 33.8 Million Ounces
In
December 2007, a high-definition airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey
was carried out on the Malartic West property by Prospectair Inc. of Gatineau,
Quebec. The technical compilation showed that the property has a similar
magnetic pattern to Osisko Mining’s Canadian Malartic gold property.
The linear magnetic signatures defined by the airborne survey on the Malartic
West property have been interpreted as intrusives. If these are alkaline diorite
porphyries like the intrusives associated with the gold mineralization on the
Canadian Malartic property, similar gold potential can be expected on the
Malartic West property.
Osisko Exploration made headlines in 2005 and a major staking rush took place in
the meta-sedimentary rocks along strike from the discovery.
Very little exploration has been done since to test for gold on the new claims.
We hope to repeat Osisko’s success by striking gold mineralization in the
meta-sediments associated with the alkaline diorite porphyries.
